SAIC has an opening for a Data Analyst to support the USSOCOM SITEC 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) contract. The USSOCOM mission is to provide fully capable Special Operations Forces (SOF) to defend the United States and its interests and synchronize planning for global operations against terrorist networks. You will support the USSOCOM mission as we partner with SOF military and civilian members to provide world-class IT services and support that connect over 70,000 users around the world in the areas of software development / maintenance, network services, security, end-user computing, and test and evaluation. This position is based on-site at Fort Bragg, NC.
The Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing structured and unstructured data to support decision-making across USSOCOM. This role involves working with data sets from various sources to develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that help leadership and operational teams gain actionable insights. The data analyst will collaborate with database administrators, system engineers, and mission stakeholders to deliver high-quality, data-driven visualization solutions in support of USSOCOM's mission. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with data tools and visualization platforms. This position requires familiarity with databases, data modeling, business intelligence (BI) tools, and basic programming to extract and transform data from multiple environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Collecting, cleaning, transforming, and analyzing large data sets from multiple sources to identify trends and support decision-making.
Developing and maintaining dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or other BI platforms.
Working closely with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and design user-friendly reports and data visualizations.
Writing queries and scripts in SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from enterprise databases.
Writing queries and scripts in Microsoft Excel to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from legacy sources.
Supporting the generation of recurring and ad hoc reports for operational and leadership teams.
Contributing to the design and implementation of data models and workflows that enhance reporting efficiency.
Conducting data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of reporting outputs.
Documenting data sources, processes, and report specifications for continuity and audit readiness.
Collaborating with IT teams and database administrators to troubleshoot data access and integration issues.
Providing analytical support for strategic initiatives, operational planning, and mission readiness assessments.
Ensuring compliance with USSOCOM data governance, classification, and cybersecurity standards.
Presenting findings and recommendations in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Education / Certification Requirements:
High School diploma with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, 4 years' experience with Associate's, OR 2 years' experience with Bachelor's.
Technical Experience:
Experience in data modeling, transformation, and visualization.
Familiarity with SQL and experience writing queries for data extraction and analysis.
Knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or .NET).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Access.
Ability to develop data visualizations that inform leadership decisions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI if hired.
US citizenship required.
