Job Description

Responsible for all aspects of testing throughout the Software Development Lifecycle process. Oversees the planning and scheduling of test activities. Ensures that testing deliverables are being produced. Works to meet the testing targets of the release criteria for the application software product. Review and validate test results and defect reports by the testers. Schedule and lead defect meetings and other meetings as required with stakeholders. Educate customers and project team members about User Acceptance Testing. Create summary reports and communicate defect metrics on a daily and weekly basis.
Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Lead to manage the quality assurance and testing efforts for our IT systems. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Test Life Cycle (STLC), current industry testing tools, and strategies for effective testing. You will lead the test planning, execution, and closure phases of various IT system projects while managing offshore teams and mentoring junior testers when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage end-to-end testing activities for IT system projects, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and timely delivery.
• Develop repeatable and scientific test strategies, plans, and detailed test cases in alignment with project requirements and goals.
• Execute functional, system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure high-quality standards.
• Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and create test scenarios, test plans, and execution results.
• Provide hands-on experience with testing applications.
• Implement automated testing frameworks to streamline regression testing and increase efficiency.
• Coordinate with offshore teams to ensure smooth collaboration, test progress, and defect resolution.
• Oversee defect tracking and reporting through tools such as Azure DevOps (or similar) and participate in defect triage meetings.
• Lead test reviews and provide management with regular status updates, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Ensure database testing using SQL queries to validate backend data for accuracy and completeness.
• Mentor and guide junior QA team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
• Work in Agile environments, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.

Qualifications:

• Strong expertise in the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), including test planning, design, execution, and closure.
• Hands-on experience with leading testing tools.
• Proven experience in database testing with SQL queries.
• Familiarity with Agile and V-model methodologies for software development and testing.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to coordinate multiple testing teams and projects.
• Experience working in an on-site environment with the ability to manage testing processes independently.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification and Scrum Master certification are a plus.
