Several full-time positions available with the Parks and Recreation Department, Facilities Maintenance Division located at 3515 NE 33rd Terrace
Starting Salary: $20.10/hou r
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Possesses skills and knowledge of working with hand and power tools.
• Follows instructions and self-motivating.
• Repairs and maintains electrical equipment such as installing wall plugs, receptacles, replacing lights, tombstones, ballast and trouble shoot short circuits.
• Repairs and maintains plumbing services repair water and sewer lines and install new lines.
• Repairs stools, drinking fountains and anything else pertaining to water.
• Performs basic carpentry inside and outside patching, sanding, painting interior and exterior, hanging drywall, mudding, taping.
• Performs general inspection of units, greasing and inspections of belts and pullies changing filters, checking belts checking roof units cleaning roof drains repairing leaks.
• Performs other assigned duties.

Qualifications

REQUIRES completion of a trade school or a shop training program; OR 6 months experience in general maintenance and repair work. May be required to obtain a valid MO Class A,B, or C CDL prior to the end of the probationary period as determined by the department. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City. Must possess a valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.

Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
