Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong mainframe expertise to develop and maintain high-volume, business-critical production platforms within financial services systems. The role involves working on payment, taxation, and reconciliation platforms, delivering reliable and scalable solutions while ensuring system stability and performance. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with business and technology teams to enhance applications based on evolving requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and related technologies
• Perform detailed analysis for maintenance and enhancement projects in both batch and online environments
• Design, deploy, and support software releases in production environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve high-severity or critical production issues
• Collaborate with business partners, product teams, and engineering teams to deliver effective solutions
• Ensure data security and integrity across applications
• Conduct thorough unit, functional, and regression testing
• Identify root causes of issues and design appropriate technical solutions
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation
• Support continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies

Required Qualifications

• 7-10 years of software development experience in enterprise-level, business-critical applications
• Strong expertise in mainframe technologies including COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, IBM Utilities, FileAid, Endevor, SQL, debuggers, schedulers, and I/O modules
• Ability to perform detailed system analysis and hands-on problem solving
• Experience supporting and maintaining production systems
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and release management
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing COBOL or native stored procedures
• Exposure to distributed technologies
• Experience working in financial services or similar regulated environments
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies
• Collaborative mindset with willingness to share knowledge and mentor team members
