Essential Duties & Responsibilities Museum Educator responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Creating age‑appropriate lesson plans for rotating exhibitions for K‑12 groups. Researching new content as needed in relation to rotating exhibitions. Utilizing inquiry‑base techniques to engage students from diverse backgrounds on gallery tours. Reporting to Japan Society staff before and after tours to provide updates and communicate important details or incidents. Supervising student groups and leading groups safely through a gallery space. Participating in paid information sessions regarding seasonal exhibition contents. (Fall & Spring) Coordinating with Japan Society staff for supplement materials including pictures and photographs, and any other materials needed for tour enrichment. Salary All‑inclusive fee in the amount of $100 per tour. Fee of $25 per hour will be paid for exhibition information session. Requirements Background in Education, Art Education or related field. Teaching experience with K‑12 students in an informal learning environment. Excellent communications skills in English. Flexible and adaptable to unexpected circumstances. Available for on‑call basis during weekdays. Experience teaching special needs students a plus. Knowledge of Japanese culture and art a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
